On the day I heard of the death of 'Prince', on the Birthday of our Queen, Elizabeth II, on the day, I finally received my legal status here in Spain, I also heard, that finally, we could close the last chapter of our life in The UK. All ties with our life in Britain, are now cut, paperwork signed and myself and my partner are free of the noose that hung around our neck for so long. These have been dramatic months in our life indeed and the sense of relief we both now feel, is unmeasurable. Over a year after 'the truth', about what we had suffered, for so long, came out, we can now finally lay to rest this dreadful period and move forwards, knowing that the characters, who were there for the final act, are gone forever. That was the news we had waited for, the information, that concluded five years of sheer hell. A happy day indeed, the day we at last, became Spanish and not the victims of a person who deserves nothing but our contempt. We will forever celebrate 21 April, as a day of freedom, freedom from the chains that bound us for so long, delivery from profligacy and salvation from unscrupulousness!
